RIDGEFIELD — Charges against a co-defendant and Ridgefield Mayor Anthony Suarez have been severed, according to a report by NorthJersey.com.
A U.S. district judge ruled that money laundering charges against Suarez's co-defendant — Vincent Tabbachino — in the corruption trial could be prejudicial against Suarez, the report said.
Suarez is accused of conspiracy to commit extortion and attempted extortion in the massive FBI corruption probe that resulted in the arrests of 44 New Jersey and New York officials last July, the report said.
