A FATHER and son accused of money laundering have been remanded in custody after police allegedly found £165,000 stashed at a house in Carlisle.
William Young senior, 53, and his son William Young junior, 32, were arrested and charged with money laundering.
Young senior is listed in court papers as being care of an address at The Green in Houghton.
He is charged with one proceeds of crime offence.
Young junior, of Gill Bank Yard in Low Harker, near Carlisle, has been charged with two proceeds of crime offences.
The pair are accused of concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property.
They appeared at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court yesterday. Neither entered a plea and the case was committed to Carlisle Crown Court on February 15.
They were refused bail.
