Colorado Springs canine crimefighter helps capture man wanted for theft, money laundering charges
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - One of CSPD’s finest on four legs helped police nab a wanted man!
Richard Daly, 55, is accused of several thefts and money laundering. Springs police say they had a felony warrant for his arrest, and on Thursday, got tipped off to his whereabouts.
“Detectives followed Daly back to his home [on Garhart Drive] where they continued surveillance and contacted [the Tactical Enforcement, K-9 and drone units],” a CSPD lieutenant said.
Eventually, police moved in on the house, but Daly refused all commands to come to the door. That’s where 2-year-old K-9 Riggs came in!
“K-9 Riggs was able to convince Daly into surrendering peacefully,” the lieutenant said.
Good boy, Riggs!
