Cumbria police have charged three people following an in-depth investigation into fraud and money laundering.
Matthew Dawkins, 21, a nurse from Main Street, Sedbergh, has been charged with thirty three counts of fraud by false representation and a proceeds of crime offence.
Zarina Gray, 20, who works in retail and lives in Main Street, Sedbergh, has been charged with 13 counts of fraud by false representation and a proceeds of crime offence.
Dalvan Steven Dawkins, 50, a Lancashire police officer and also from the Sedbergh area, has been charged with one count of fraud by false representation and six proceeds of crime/money laundering offences.
The charges follow an investigation that was launched in July last year after the Royal Bank of Scotland was defrauded of around £85,000 worth of fraudulent credit card payments.
All three have been placed on police bail to appear at South Lakes Magistrates Court on February 16.
