LOS ANGELES—A West Hollywood couple face more than 20 years in federal prison for bribing a Thai official to run the Bangkok International Film Festival.
Producers Gerald and Patricia Green are scheduled for sentencing Thursday in Los Angeles. They were convicted last fall of conspiracy, money laundering and violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Prosecutors said they paid the former Thai head of tourism nearly $2 million for contracts to run the 2007 festival and a related tour that generated some $13.5 million in revenue.
The ex-official, Juthamas Siriwan, and her daughter, also face conspiracy and other charges that carry 20-year prison terms.
Gerald Green's credits include "Salvador" and "Rescue Dawn."
