Attorney John Karoly's sentencing for money laundering, mail and tax fraud has been rescheduled to April.
Karoly, of South Whitehall, was originally scheduled to be sentenced Thursday, but will now hear his fate from U.S. District Judge Lawrence F. Stengel at 9:30 a.m. April 22 in Philadelphia.
No reason was given in court documents for the delay.
Karoly faces up to nine years in prison and $2 million in fines after he was found guilty in November of six counts of money laundering and three counts of mail fraud for participating in a scheme to defraud a local charity and church.
Stengel, following a nonjury trial, found that Karoly wrote a $500,000 check to the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation, took a tax deduction and then used the money for personal and business expenses after steering it through Dubbs Memorial Church of Christ in Allentown to his own private foundation.
Karoly, 59, also pleaded guilty in July to failing to pay taxes on $5.2 million in income.
