USA Today reported Thursday that the sentencing of Mark Ingram Sr. — whose son plays tonight in college football's national championship — will be delayed until March.
Ingram was scheduled to be sentenced Friday on bank fraud and money laundering charges, as well as for not reporting to prison to serve time for those charges.
Ingram was arrested last January in a hotel near his Grand Blanc home. He failed to report to a federal prison in Kentucky so that he could watch his son play in the Southeast Conference championship game.
Mark Ingram Jr., a Flint Southwestern graduate, won the Heisman Trophy last month as college football's premier player. He's a sophomore running back for Alabama, which plays Texas for the national title.
