Adele MacLean, Marlon Scott Kautz, and Savannah Patterson, of the Atlanta Solidarity Fund, have been swept up in charges of money laundering and charity fraud, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Their defense argument, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, hinges on the assertion by the defendants' attorneys that their efforts were designed to support lawful protest and offer assistance such as bail money and legal counsel, not to endorse or incite any form of violence.
